Open water swimming competition in Elva

After the open water swimming course, we went to Elva to participate in the open water swimming competition. For almost everyone, it was their first competitive experience in open water.

The youngest members of our club were: Hanna Light, who participated in the 100m swim at the junior distance, finishing 2nd with a time of 1.48. The first place swimmer swam with a time of 1.47, so Hanna was only one second away from first place.

Our club was represented in the youth distance (400m) Anni Kaarde ja Elinor Anelle TummiIn the 10-11 year old girls category, Anni finished 3rd with a time of 5.11 and Elinor finished 12th in her age group with a time of 6.31.

At the amateur distance (700m), the young man represented us Marian Saage with a time of 14.46, finishing 8th. After the swim, Marian said that she could have swum even faster, so she still had some energy left.

In the adult category, swimmers Kart Maran ja Viljar Kaarde in the amateur distance, also 700m. Kärt swam the 700m in 18.35, finishing in 5th place, and Viljar swam the same distance in the men's race in 16.33, finishing in sixth place.

Our head swimming coach participated in the main distance Martin Siller and had to swim three laps of the amateur distance, or 2100m. In my age group, I came in 4th place with a time of 36.38 and I can be quite satisfied with the result this time.
